Aurora Wings - Snowman Sprite

I've coloured him up with promarkers and as there is so much white in the image, I've used a little ice grey 1 to add some shade to the "snow". I've then taken the image into Serif to add the background and sentiment

This is my DT project for the Crafty Girls Challenge blog, using a sweet image from Bugaboo.

I'm trying to build my digital craft skills with Serif but still love the physical art of colouring as I find it easier to shade and add dimension on an image using promarkers or colouring pencils rather than digital colouring.

For this design, the image was coloured using a limited set of promarkers and then cut out in serif and compiles with the background and font, finished with a light dusting of "digital snow" for the holidays

Masquerade

My DT project this week for Crafting from the Heart uses this lovely sophisticated image from Aurora Wings. I've coloured the image with promarkers and then taken it into serif to layer it with a background. I've reduced the transparency of the image to blend it with the background paper and then overlayed it with glitter and a photo real gemstone

Aurora Wings - New Christmas Sprites

How cute is this little sprite! She's called Amaryllis Sprite and she's one of the new set being launched today and available as part of a mini colouring book... I've coloured her with promarkers and made a digital collage but she'd look as lovely on a card or xmas gift bag.

Harvest Elf

This week has a new digi launch from Aurora Wings, featuring this pretty elf. While I'm clinging onto summer for as long as possible, getting out brown, yellow, peach and red shades to colour this lovely image was a reminder of how lovely autumn colours are. 

For my DT project, I've coloured the image with promakers and compiled it in serif with a crackled background to make a change from a greeting card. As a tip I occasionally use this method to decide a design before making it with actual papers and embellishments.

I felt like trying something a little different this week so for my Crafty Girls DT project, I've created a pop art style design using this image from Bugaboo.

The image is actually a normal digi with all the facial features etc. Typically I would colour it with promarkers but in this case I took the image into serif and created a silhouette. I think added some embossing for dimension and finished with some colourful pop art style backgrounds

This month new sprite from Aurora Wings is adorable! It's this cute little sprite is hiding in a fab ice cream sundae :) 

For my DT design, I've coloured him up using promarkers with the ice cream in my favourite flavours of pistachio, strawberry and praline. The background has been embossed and the card is finished with a little touch of bakers twine

My inspiration came from this image as I've never seen a natural flower with such a vivid and contrasting colour combination

Stand Out

This is my DT card for Crafting Cafe this month. The image is from Squigglefly. I printed it twice (once as it is and once inverted horizontally), because I wanted to have the three girls facing the one hanging upside down. From each image I cut away the part I didn't want. 

To match the sentiment, the three girls have been coloured with soft promarker shades where as the one hanging upside down is a loud mix of pink and green

This is my DT inspiration card for Crafting for the Heart. The image is called Winter Sofia by ArtbyMiran and its great for winter but by cutting away the background and covering the bottom with a couple of heart boarder dies, I think it works just as well for any time of year

I've kept the colour scheme simple as the image is lovely so I wanted it to stand out

I decided to go for a CAS style for my crafting from the heart DT card this week. I've been wanting to practice colouring eyes for a while now and this image from Dilly Beans was perfect for it.

I cut into the image, coloured with promarkers and placed it as a banner across the card blank. Its been finished with a few cut out hearts stuck in a scattered pattern over the image as through they were blowing around the face and hair
