Winter Sprites launch

Hi there

The final launch of the year for the Aurora wings showcase blog and it includes some lovely cute sprites!

I decided to play with this cute hot chocolate image to make a little recipe card. I'm thinking naming that it will go nicely with a couple of gourmet tubs of hot chocolate as a gift

Lots more inspiration and a chance to see the other new images at the showcase designer blog

You can purchase this image at the Aurora wings etsy shop or the Aurora wings website

Lady butterfly double showcase

Hi there

Look at these fabulous new digis from Mitzi at Aurora Wings!!! They are so pretty and feminine.

I thought I'd try two different looks (both coloured with Copic pens)

The first looked more shy or quite to me so she is shaded in muted greyish green and peach shades, for some reason it makes me think of a night sea nymph

The second looked so calm and peaceful that I went with rainbow shades moving from sea colours from the base to pretty pinks in the wings

This is the first showcase after a summer break so head over to the Aurora Wings showcase blog for more inspiration and potentially an offer...... potentially called Autumn Mermaid.... potentially free for eligible purchases :)

Flower Moon

Hi there

New launch time at Aurora Wings today with this pretty pretty flower image. It's so feminine it needed to be coloured in soft pinks and mauves.

I've coloured the image with a mixture of copics and promarkers. She'll make it onto a card once my craft things come back out of storage :)

You can purchase this image via the Aurora Wings website and see more inspiration on the Aurora Wings blog

Under the Sea

Hi there

I'm a guest DT this week for Aurora Wings for the "under the sea" challenge. :)

I decided to make a page marker. It's so simple, just cut the corner from an envelope and cover both sides with paper. In this case I covered it with turquoise tissue paper to give a slightly translucent look. The mermaid image (from aurora wings of course!) is coloured with Copics and then fussy cut and added to the tissue covered base. Once done, just slot onto your books as an easy, pretty page corner!

Aurora Wings - New Images

Hi there

I love these fae images from Aurora Wings - they are just so ethereal!
I'm still having a bit of a non cardmaking phase so this week, I decided to use this image on a bag for life!

I printed a mirror image onto photo transfer paper and transferred it to the bag. Unfortunately a little bit ripped when pulling the contact paper away (guess I needed to leave the iron on that part a little longer!), still luckily it was only one corner. The image is coloured with both copics and promarkers

You can get this digi (and another one which is also launching today) from the Aurora Wings shop and see more inspiration on the Aurora Wings blog

and lastly...... discount codes for this weekend!!! :)

Aurora wing - new flower sprites!

Hi there

It's been a LONG time since my last blog and in fact since the craft supplies have been out! How great to break them out again for the first time this year for these lovely new flower sprites from Aurora Wings :)

Today's project started life as a can of organic chopped tomatoes but decided it would rather be a pen holder.... Take care when taking the lid off if you make something similar, I found the cans with the ring pulls are best to use so that there is no risk of any jagged edges. Once the original wrapper on the tin is removed, it's really a blank canvas.

For this project, I used two sheets of coordinating paper so the side with Hyacinth Sprite is plain, and the side with Crocus Sprite is slightly patterned. I also cut out and layered some of the elements from the papers as sentiments or cover ups. The digi stamps are coloured with Copics, cut out and added to the tin using double sided tape ( I might go back and glue these down though as the edges are popping up on a circular surface which is a little annoying and probably not very practical :)

You can get these digis from the Aurora Wings shop and see more inspiration on the Aurora Wings blog
