For my Crafty Girlz DT project this month, I paired this image with a zentangle background as I liked the mix of pretty/delicate with bold and graphic

Harvest Elf

Hi there

This week has a new digi launch from Aurora Wings, featuring this pretty elf. While I'm clinging onto summer for as long as possible, getting out brown, yellow, peach and red shades to colour this lovely image was a reminder of how lovely autumn colours are. 

For my DT project, I've coloured the image with promakers and compiled it in serif with a crackled background to make a change from a greeting card. As a tip I occasionally use this method to decide a design before making it with actual papers and embellishments.

Pop Art

I felt like trying something a little different this week so for my Crafty Girls DT project, I've created a pop art style design using this image from Bugaboo.

The image is actually a normal digi with all the facial features etc. Typically I would colour it with promarkers but in this case I took the image into serif and created a silhouette. I think added some embossing for dimension and finished with some colourful pop art style backgrounds
