Joy and Happiness

Hi there

Hope you had a lovely Christmas. For the month's Crafting Cafe challenge, I made this as my DT card. Starting to use watercolour was one of the new things I added to my crafting this year and I've loved learning this medium!

The image is from mo's digital pencil and its been watercoloured with distress inks and finished with snow glitter

Wishing you all the best for 2015!

Cute with Attitute

Hi there

Life gotten in the way of craft for a few weeks but just saw the DT call for All Dressed Up and made this cutie to enter. Love pop art and wanted to do something slightly different with this image.

I hope it not too late to enter, but if it is, I had fun making this anyway :)

Rubix

Hi there

I felt like making some different for this week's challenge at crafting from the heart, so for my DT project I decided to alter a rubix cube.

The elephant image is from Eureka and I've coloured it with promarkers with the background being a "loud" colour in keeping with the rubix style. I then cut it into 9 squares and adhered to the rubix cube using glossy accents. Each square was then finished with another layer of glossy accents to give it a tougher surface.

The rest of the digis are all from the Eureka/QKR balloon range and the remaining sides of the cube read "its a jungle" on one side and "out there" on the other.

Its all relative

Hi there

This is my DT inspiration card for Krafty Girlz using a turtle image from QKR
I wanted a CAS look so the image and sentiment would be the focus so its been coloured with promarkers and matted on co-ordinating paper, finished with a button and some twine

Drinks Anyone?

Hi there

For my DT project for Crafting Cafe this month, I decided to use this fun image from bugaboo to make some wine glass charms. The image has been coloured with promarkers and finished with glossy accents for durability.

I've added an eyelet on each and used a few jump rings with some organza ribbon to attach them to the glasses. They are a great (and really quick!) way to make something practical for the party season and you can colour them up in as many colourways as you can think of!

Sassy Cake

Hi there

This is my DT inspiration card for crafting from the heart using a cute cake image from Sassy Studio. Its been coloured with promarkers and embellished with cosmic shimmer pearl glue. I've then layered a few papers in shared of pink and purple to create a background. The sentiment is a stamp from LOTV

Siren

Hi there

Some of my favourite images are by A Day for Daisies as they are so pretty. ADFD are also sponsoring this weeks challenge at Tuesday Throwdown and this is my DT inspiration card using a lovely mermaid image called watertalk.

Its been watercoloured using distress inks and as the challenge theme is 1 image, 2 papers and 3 flowers, I inked up some background papers in similar colours, distressed the edges and finished with some skeleton leaves and mulberry flowers

Hi there

This is my DT card for crafting from the heart using an image from QKR.
The giraffe has been coloured with promarkers and set on a "wood" frame with handmade paper which is set with large leaves. The sentiment stamp is from LOTV and is attached with a little clothes peg.

Beer Mat

Hi there

I was looking at my promakers the other day and realised that I never use the chisel end, ever.. so for this DT inspiration project for 4 Krafty Girls, using a Eureka balloon digi, I decided to make a beer mat and only use the chisel end..

Thought it might end up a big mess so printed two to have a back up but its amazing how much control you have with the broader tip. For the lion's mane it was also a lot easier than trying to use a bullet nib.

Poppies

Hi there

This is my DT inspiration card for Crafting Cafe. The theme this month is photo inspiration using poppies. This image from Ooh la la creations is so colourful I printed it with a watercolour effect and finished with a simple sentiment and basic mat and layer to make the image the main focus of the card. The sentiment reads "we make a living by what we get, we make a life, by what we give"

Summer Gift Tag

Hi there

This is my DT inspiration project for Tuesday Throwdown using a cute acetate panel from freckled fawn and an image from whoopsi daisy. It has a little self made pocket on the back to put tickets or a voucher. I think it would work equally well as a luggage tag as the acetate is very sturdy

A Hoot

Hi there

This is my DT inspiration card for Tuesday Throwdown using an image from My Grafico and the assigned sketch. The owl has been decoupaged for a 3D effect and coloured with promarkers in line with the colours from the background paper

Road Trip Thelma?

Hi there

A random fan is one of the sponsors at crafting from the heart this week and this is my DT inspiration project. Their images are so cute and this one has so many uses. I know someone taking driving lessons at the moment so that was my inspiration for the design
The image has been coloured with promarkers

Timeless Beauty

Hi there

ADFD is one of the sponsors this week at 4 Krafty Girlz and this is my DT card using one of their Timeless Beauties images. Its such an ethereal image I decided to go with soft pinks and browns. The promarker colouring the very light on this image as I wanted it to tie with the stronger colours on the background.

Jungle Baby

Hi there

This is my DT project for Tuesday Throwdown using a fabulous template from Creations by AR. The baby bag template comes with everything you need for either a boy or a girl bag and its really up to you to design it as you like. I decided to go with a jungle/safari theme to make my bag different to the usual girly designs for a baby girl. The image on the bag is from lily of the valley and I coloured with promarkers turning the rocking horse into a rocking zebra :)

Shop til you drop

Hi there

This is my DT inspiration card for Crafting Cafe. The image is from Lacy Sunshine and is perfect for a girlie card. I tend to use pinks and purples a lot in my designs so decided to go colours I rarely use for this card. Given this was made on a lovely sunny day, it needed to be something bright and bold.

Lots of pink

Hi there

The theme this week at whoopsi daisy is "lots of pink" and I decided to use serif again for my DT project. I thought the image of the girl and teddy worked well with the sentiment and for the theme, I layered about 5 papers and frames in various shade of pink with different levels of transparency - I think it gives the background a sort of washout out collage effect

That's my bag

Hi there

The theme this fortnight at Tuesday Throwdown is "take us on vacation" and this is my DT project using an image from the The Stamping Boutique.
Finding your bag at the airport carousel is forever a nightmare so to fit this theme I decided to make a little luggage tag. The background paper has been cut twice and stuck together for extra weight and the image is coloured with promarkers. For extra durability, the tag could also be laminated

Go Wild

Hi there

Eureka are sponsoring the challenge at Crafting from the Heart this week and this is my DT card. I love going on safari and that's what inspired this card. It's actually very simple in concept as I printed the zebra balloon several times, lightly coloured them and attached to the card with silicone gel so that they were dimensional. The zebra background was a great find and the letters were printed and filled in with "grass" using promarkers in a few shades of green.

Rainbow

Hi there

Bugaboo is sponsoring the challenge this week at 4 krafty girlz and this is  my DT inspiration card. This image is so cute and I coloured it with all the colours of the rainbow. The wellington and water drops have been glazed.
I don't often decorate the inside of cards but this time decided to carry the rainbow through to the inside.

I decided to make a bookmark for my Tuesday Throwdown DT project this week.
The image is from Robyn's Fetish and I've used serif to lay the image down a few times but only keep one dragonfly. Its been coloured with promarkers.

Fly High

Hi there

QKR is one of the sponsors at crafting from the heart this week and this fabulous parachuting pigeon is one of their images.

I thought it was so cute and wanted to try out creating my own background "sky". I made a template of clouds with a scrap of card and used broken china distress into to create the sky on the card base, I then applied the same technique to the image.

The image has been coloured with promarkers and finished with ribbon, a button and some little tags

Insanity

Hi there

The theme this month at Crafting Cafe is "Love and Marriage". This is my DT card using a fabulous image from bugaboo. I was a little tired of white backgrounds when I sat down to make this so decided to flood the background with a maroon promarker. I think it makes the image pop quite effectively from the page.
I've finished it with a little glaze on the glasses.

CAS

Hi there

It's a new challenge at 4 krafty girlz and bugaboo is one of the sponsors. This image is so versitle  - the original image had a different sentiment but I change it in serif.
I wanted to try a CAS design this time as I don't often leave a lot of white space on my cards.

Summer is here

Hi there

This is the theme for the challenge at Whoopsi Daisy this week and this image fits it so perfectly! I haven't played with my serif software in a long time so decided to make a digital project this time. I think it would make a lovely tag.

Flower Fairy

Hi there

I'm so pleased to be joining the Tuesday Throwdown challenge as a design team member. This week the sponsor is milk coffee and I've used this fabulous fairy image for my DT card.

Its been coloured with promarkers, fussy cut and set on a rose embossed background and sparkly ribbon

Birds on a wire

Hi there

Limited Runs is one of the sponsors this week at Crafting from the Heart and this is my DT card using one of their images, coloured with promarkers.

The sentiment is a little tongue in cheek ("a best friend knows how crazy you are and still chooses to be seen with you in public") but I thought is worked well with the image.

Zentangle Heart

Hi there

It's another challenge at 4 Krafty Girls and this fortnight, Eureka is one of the sponsors. My DT card uses their "knot heart" image which I thought was crying out to be zentangled. I've kept the whole design very monochrome as I wanted the zentangle to be the feature.

It's so relaxing to add these doodle patterns on an image and if you haven't tried it yet, I'd recommend it!

Hello Duckie

Hi there

Its a new challenge again at Crafting from the heart and this is my DT inspiration card using a cute image from Eureka. As we seem to be having a little early summer, I wanted to go with something bright and cheerful which could be used for any occasion.

The image has been coloured with promarkers and the background paper is from American crafts.

Flapper

Hi there

Rick St Dennis is one of the sponsors this week at 4 krafty girlz. This is the first time I've used one of his images but I love it - it's could be used for so many occasions and is so very 20's. I found some paper that I thought looked quite deco and while I liked the black and white, I wanted a pop of colour so decided to add a hot pink to the mix. To tie in with the boa, I added a little feather to the sentiment.

This is my DT card for Crafting Cafe. The theme this month is "creatures" and I loved this cute fish from Oakpond.

A day for daisies is one of the sponsors this week at crafting from the heart and I've used the fabulous "braid in my hair" image for my DT inspiration card. I've coloured it with promarkers and cut it with a spellbinders die. The colours are all selected from the background paper.

Flower Skirt

Hi there

A day for daisies is one of the sponsors this week at 4 krafty girlz. I love their images especially these feminine ones. I decided to use a shaped card for my DT inspiration card and wanted the image to be the focal point.

I've coloured the digi with promarkers and have extended the length of the skirt with a fine liner pen so that it fits with the bottom of the card. The image has been mounted to the background paper with silicone to give a bit of depth.

Orchid Fairy

Hi there

Aurora Wings is one of the sponsors at 4 krafty girlz this week and I've used the fabulous Orchid Fairy image for my DT inspiration card. I don't normally use yellow in my cards, but for some reason this was just calling to be coloured in purple and yellow. It's been coloured with promarkers and finished with a little touch of perfect pearls on the wings and earrings

Swing of Flowers

Hi there

The theme this week at Whoopsi Daisy is "Hand Coloured Image" so I decided to watercolour this image for my DT inspiration card.

The edge of the card has been finished with an accordion style frame (It's a little easier to see in the second picture) and the image has been suspended from one of the folds so it sits away from the back of the card.

Thumbs Up

Hi there

This is my DT inspiration card for The Crafting Cafe challenge blog. It uses an image from Kenny K that I've cut into. I've used some industrial style wallpaper as the backing paper and have cut into it with a round spellbinders die so that the thumb overlays the background.

Ivy Fairy

Hi there

This is my DT inspiration card for Crafting from the Heart. The gorgeous image is from Delicious Doodles and it's called Ivy Fairy. I've coloured her with promarkers shading the wings in fire shades as I liked the effect and thought it went with the red hair.

I coloured the image before looking for matching background papers and realised that I didn't have any that really went. However by edging the image in distress ink and colour tinting some background papers with the same ink, it pulled it together.

Hi there

Sassy Studios is one of the sponsors this week at 4 Krafty Girlz and this is my DT inspiration card using "the new sassy cassy". Red, Black and White is my favourite colour combination and what better than a red bowler hat!

The image has been coloured with promarkers and I've used a spellbinders die to create an aperture in the patterned paper. Its been finished with faux stitching, a bight red ribbon and double set red buttons.

Doodle Birds

Hi there

Doddle Garden is one of the sponsors this week at Crafting from the Heart and this is my DT inspiration card.

This image is so cute, I decided to watercolour it using distress inks. For a change, I actually picked the background paper first and coloured the image to match (my usual method is to colour the image first and then create a big mess of paper trying to find a background that works :)

Pearls in my Hair

Hi there

ADFD is one of the sponsors at 4 Krafty Girls this fortnight and this is my DT inspiration card. It uses the gorgeous "Pearls in my hair" digi.

I've watercoloured the image with distress inks co-ordinating the colours with a pretty background paper. I've cut out the image and mounted it onto the card and finished with pearl dots in the hair.
