What a fabulous new launch of digis from Mitzi at Aurora Wings today!
I haven't used colour pencils since school but thought I'd try them out on this pretty image, the Derwent coloursoft range is very bendable and the front of this card actually started life as a blank white page. The background was softened further with distress inks.
I thought the poem fitted the image perfectly - it reads "Darwin may have been quite correct in his theory that Man descended from the apes in the forest, but surely women rose from the frothy sea as resplendent as Aphrodite on her scalloped chariot"
The digi can be purchased from the Aurora wings website or etsy shop. Use the code DIGIJOY to save 20% on orders over $5 this weekend or if you are buying both the mermaid new releases, use the code OCEAN2 to get 50% of the 2nd new release digi

Love the poem, and the background is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card, Hath Thi! I love your coloring on the image with colored pencils. It is soft and free flowing, suggestive of the world underwater. The poem is perfect for this image. Exquisite work!!
